Step 3 (Final assembly)

Mounting the LCD Monitor and Laptop into the display case is the last thing we need to do.  First you have to carefully mount the LCD to the black MATTE in the case.  I say carefull because it is attatched to the Laptop and if you screw up the cables you might just have a big pile of junk.  I was very careful not to put any stress on the cables and mounted the LCD to the black MATTE with glue and black duct tape.  After that you just need to secure the laptop down using the brackets from the hardware store..

Here is a front view right after I mounted everything.  Some have commented that it is not perfectly centered.  When you are viewing images you do not notice my imperfect mounting at all.

The last thing to do is clean up the back of the whole thing using more black cardboard.  This gives the back a finished look.  The black duct tape that is so visible in the picture is only highlighted due to the flash of the camera.  Without the flash to whole back looks incredibly professional.

I am not recommending this project to anyone, I just wanted to share my experience in building it.  I also take no responsibility if you try this and break anything.

NOTES:

I purchased a wireless LAN card and PCAnywhere, so now I can change the pictures being displayed on my LCD Picture Frame from my desktop machine without any wires, try that with any commercial frame.
